Understanding How Rescued Helps

Rescued operates with limited funds. While we receive support through store sales, fundraisers, and donations, those dollars are used immediately to cover veterinary bills for pets in need. In many cases, funds are committed as soon as they are received.

Because of this, Rescued is best viewed as a last-resort resource. We know that can be difficult to hear—but when we choose to assist one pet financially, it may mean another must wait longer for help. Our goal is always to use our resources in a way that helps the greatest number of animals possible.

How You Can Help Stretch Our Impact

There are several steps pet owners can take before reaching out to Rescued. These efforts allow our limited funds to go further and help more pets overall:

-
Plan ahead when possible. Setting aside an emergency fund for veterinary care—even a small one—can make a meaningful difference. Preparedness helps prevent panic when unexpected expenses arise.
-
Ask your veterinarian about assistance programs. Some veterinary clinics offer “Angel Funds” or similar programs for clients facing financial hardship.
-
Explore financing options first. CareCredit should be considered before requesting assistance. Other options include Scratch Pay and Cherry.
-
Check with your veterinarian about their requirements—some may ask for a 20% deposit or request that you cover the exam fees. Contributing toward a portion of the bill helps stretch our funds so we can assist more pets in need.
When to Contact Rescued

If all other options have been exhausted, you may then consider reaching out to Rescued. Please understand:

-
We are not able to work with every veterinary office in the area.
-
When financial assistance is approved, payments are made directly to the veterinary clinic, not to pet owners.
-
All assistance decisions are based on what is in the best interest of the animal.
-
Rescued requires that assisted pets be spayed or neutered.
-
We do not provide funding for animals used for breeding or for profit.
Our Commitment

Our funds are limited, and we take that responsibility seriously. By doing your part whenever possible, you help ensure that Rescued can continue doing ours—making the greatest impact for as many pets as possible.

Thank you for understanding, and for being part of a community that truly cares.
